Koskenkorva Ginger Cocktail Gift

3 x DIY cocktail gifts

Looking for the perfect small gift for a cocktail enthusiast? Here are three cocktail-themed gifts that are super easy to make.

Handmade gifts are a wonderful way of adding a personal touch and these cocktail kits are a great idea when you are looking for something small, quick, and easy. Grab a cocktail recipe, gather ingredients, and pop them into a reusable jar and you got the perfect birthday, Christmas, or host/hostess gift in your hands. Let’s get crafty.

Choosing a container

You can use any container you wish for the cocktail kit such as a mason jar, a glass jar or if you wish to elevate the gift, even a shaker! The best containers are the ones that serve a purpose even after the gift has been opened and ‘used’.

Tip! Add some shredded crinkle paper at the bottom of the container especially if you have glass items in the kit to keep them a bit more secure. You can make this easily yourself by cutting thin slices from paper and squeezing them in your hands to make it crinkly. Use, for instance, newspaper or kraft paper that you get with packages.

Gathering ingredients

It all starts with a good cocktail recipe. Luckily, we have tons of tasty cocktails available for you to browse through here. Once you’ve landed on a favorite, grab a mini bottle from our miniature selection here. If you can’t find the right miniature, don’t worry. Another option is to shop for small bottles and fill them from a larger. This is especially good if the cocktail you chose needs syrups or other flavorings which you often cannot find in mini bottles.

Then just keep on adding the ingredients the cocktail needs. Typically, these include fresh fruits or vegetables, so we recommend shopping organic and as close to the gifting day to make sure they are still fresh.

Finding add-ons & completing the gift

If you wish to make the gift a bit more special, there are many other items you can add onto the gift. To give you some ideas, you could get a mixing spoon, a cocktail jigger, a bottle opener, or a kitchen towel to elevate the cocktail kit. You could even pair the cocktail kit with a nice set of glasses fitting to the cocktail and voilà!

To complete the gift, all you’ll need is some ribbon and a gift tag. If you have a large enough gift tag you can write the recipe ingredients and instruction on the back side or just pop a separate recipe card inside the jar.

Skagerrak Nordic Dry Gin Cocktail Gift

3 x cocktail kit ideas

Here are three cocktail kit ideas to help you get started!

Gin Gin Mule

Place shredded crinkle paper at the bottom of the jar and fill it with a Skagerrak Nordic Dry Gin miniature, a bottle or can of ginger beer, and some fresh limes. Add any additional items such as a cocktail jigger, close the lid, and tie the ribbon with the tag around the jar.

(The recipe also asks for sugar syrup which is easy to make home by mixing and heating sugar and water in a 50-50 ratio. The cocktail is to be garnished with mint which we recommend giving separately to make sure it's fresh.)

Ginger Tonic

Place shredded crinkle paper at the bottom of the jar and fill it with a Koskenkorva Ginger miniature, a bottle or can of tonic water, some fresh limes, and ginger. Add any additional items such as a bottle opener, close the lid, and tie the ribbon with the tag around the jar.

Olof Palme

Place shredded crinkle paper at the bottom of the jar and fill it with a O.P. Anderson Aquavit miniature, a bottle or can of ginger ale, and some fresh limes. Add any additional items such as a mixing spoon, close the lid, and tie the ribbon with the tag around the jar.

(The recipe also asks for sugar, which is normally found in every household, but you can also add it inside the jar in a smaller container. The cocktail is to be garnished with mint which we recommend giving separately to make sure it's fresh.)
