Classic Irish Coffee
Ingredients for 1 person
5 cl Irish Whiskey
Approx. 10 cl of hot brewed coffee
2 tsp. brown sugar
Cream
Approx. 3 coffee beans for garnish
Preparation
Prepare the ingredients. Brew the coffee, lightly whip the cream (do not refrigerate), and fill the glass with hot water to keep it warm.
Pour out the hot water and measure brown sugar and half of the coffee in the hot glass. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Measure in the whiskey and rest of the coffee.
Save space for approximately 1,5 cm for the cream. Float the cream on top of the drink carefully with the help of a warm spoon.
Garnish with coffee beans and enjoy. Psst! Irish Coffee is never served with a straw, it should be enjoyed through the cream.
Did you know that the Irish Coffee was originally created by Joe Sheridan in Ireland? When freezing flight passengers from the U.S. landed and needed something to warm them up, Joe created this classic hot drink. Is it Brazilian coffee? They wondered. No, it is Irish, replied Joe.
