Full-bodied, dry, and very bitter taste with a clear character of wormwood, hints of orange, and cinnamon.
Best enjoyed as a digestif after a hearty meal. Works especially well with flavorful and fatty foods.
Wormwood has long been one of the most widely used medicinal herbs and is found in many drink recipes. Bäska Droppar began its days as a popular stomach medicine at the turn of the 1900s. It was first sold as a tincture in pharmacies for mixing at home with unspiced spirits.
In 1917, Vin & Spritcentralen in Sweden began selling ready-mixed Bäska Droppar in a bottle. Today, the product is manufactured according to artisanal methods at O.P. Anderson Distillery in Matfors outside Sundsvall, Sweden.
