With summer comes Koskenkorva Vodka 7 Botanicals
Since the early 1950s, the people at the village of Koskenkorva in southwestern Finland have come together to create a clear and smooth vodka. For even longer, Midsummer has been celebrated in Finland with old and new traditions many of which center around the Midsummer Eve and Night.
One of the most famous Midsummer folklores in the Nordics is the picking of seven different kinds of botanicals to put under your pillow on Midsummer Night to dream of your future spouse. It is this folklore that inspired the Koskenkorva Vodka 7 Botanicals where craftmanship intertwines with the mystery of midsummer. The result? A beautiful product both inside and out.
Koskenkorva Vodka 7 Botanicals – a tradition
This year’s limited edition is the fourth in a row in the popular series that can now be seen as the village summer tradition. Since its introduction, the unique summer vodka has been awarded several prestigious awards in the distinguished Vodka Masters by the Spirits Business, including:
Master medal (highest award) for the 2022 edition
Gold medal for the 2021 edition
Master medal (highest award) for the 2020 edition
The fragrance and taste of the 2023 edition are characterized as before by a refreshing citrusy aroma and elements from the plant kingdom. This year, the floral and herbal notes consist of birch, cranberry, and heather as well as a hint of meadowsweet. Additionally, there are clear and delightful notes of smokiness in both the aroma and the taste - a tribute to the traditional Midsummer bonfires in Finland. The aftertaste lingers as long as a Midsummer Night and completes the taste experience.
Consumers value genuine products that are linked to a specific place and carry and tell a story. That's why I'm incredibly proud to be able to present this year's summer vodka that does just that. Koskenkorva 7 Botanicals 2023 is a must for summer events and best enjoyed as a shot or as the base of a delicious summer drink, says Heini Suominen, Koskenkorva's Senior Brand Manager.
